I am honored to be nominated by the Newington Democratic Town Committee for re-election to the Newington Town Council.

I grew up in Newington and graduated from Newington High School, received a nursing degree from Greater Hartford Community College and went on to complete undergraduate and graduate degrees in Latin American Studies and Anthropology at the University of Connecticut. I currently work as a registered nurse for a CT-based non-profit organization, engaging with underserved folks in the Greater Hartford region. As a single parent, I have raised a son, Loren, who has grown into a wonderful adult and has flown the nest.

I am proud to be a member of the Newington Town Council, the Newington Veteran Firefighters Association, current President of the Friends of the Lucy Robbins Welles Library and a member of the Anna Reynolds Building Committee. It is a privilege to serve my community.

As a Town Councilor, I am dedicated to serving our town, working to ensure that Newington’s current residents and future generations have the resources, services and infrastructure necessary for a safe, healthy and vibrant community. I am committed to smart management of our tax dollars, thoughtful development that fosters economic growth while maintaining open space and assuring a livable community. I will continue to support public education and funding for our Newington public schools. As always, I will continue to work closely with our state legislators to maximize state funding opportunities and ensure that we receive our fair share of state and federal funds.
